Honzaki began his career as a teacher and program coordinator for Community Quest at Kailua High School in 1995. Henna studied education administration as a doctoral candidate and received a master’s degree in secondary education, and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.įollowing in Henna’s footsteps is George Honzaki, who will become HBA’s new middle school principal. In 2008, she returned to HBA to serve as the middle school principal. Over the course of 19 years, she gained extensive experience as director of statewide online learning, a school administrator, a technology education specialist and as a resource teacher in public schools. In 1989, she left HBA to work for the Hawaii Department of Education. Henna began her career in education as HBA’s registrar in 1985. As we all know, the best ideas are always made better with the support and collaboration of a dedicated team,” said Henna. She has many years of experience as an administrator in both public and private schools in Hawaii, and she understands the importance of using new technology in and outside of the classroom,” said Ron Shiira, HBA vice president. The school will be an online extension of HBA’s programs and provide distance learning through new and creative technology. Hawaii Baptist Academy celebrates a milestone this year by announcing Claudia Henna as the school’s first digital school principal.
